When to Register

Registration for and collection of the Trident ID card is currently available only at the Electoral Department Warrens Office Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm 

If you do not receive a call informing you that your card is ready for collection, you are asked to call us at 536-2343 or 535-4800 before visiting the collection centre.

On request, incapacitated persons and persons in institutions, will be registered at their place of residence.

Registration will be conducted using the surname system, with two weeks for each category.

A & B June 27th – July 9th

 

C, D, E & F July 11th – 23rd

 

G, H, I, J & K July 25th – Aug 6th

 

L, M, N, O, P, Q & R Aug. 8th – 20th

 

S, T, U, V, W, X, Y & Z Aug. 22nd – Sept 3rd

 

On request, incapacitated persons and persons in institutions, will be registered at their place of residence, starting Sept. 26th.

 

Pensioners, persons with disabilities and welfare recipients may register from Monday, June 27th 2022, regardless of their last name.

 

These individuals may register at any centre and, on any day.

 

You may register for the card in person, at any one of the 21 registration centres across the island or you may register online at trident.gov.bb.

 

If registering in person, please do not wear white as photos will be taken against a white background.

 

For online registration, you are not required to follow the surname system, you may register at any time.

Registration will be conducted Monday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Persons will be registered by Surname and in eight categories: 1. A-B   2. C-F    3. G-K    4. L-R   5. S-Z   6.70+   7. Incapacitated   8. Persons in Institutions

When registering, adults may register their child(ren) under 16 years, regardless of the child(ren)’s surname.

Incapacitated persons will be registered at their place of residence if a request is made to the Electoral Office.

Persons in Geriatric Hospitals, Children’s Homes, Correctional Centres etc. will be registered at the Institution.

The registration process will take approximately fifteen minutes but the wait time will depend on the number of persons ahead of you to be registered.

The card will be available for collection at the centre at which you were registered within eight weeks after registration.

The head, face and hairline must be seen therefore NO hat, cap, shawl, scarf or any form of covering of the head or face except for religious reasons.

The eyes must be clearly visible, therefore NO tinted glasses, shades, cosmetic eye covering or hair is allowed to obscure the eyes.

The shoulders must be covered, therefore NO sleeveless shirts, tops or dresses are allowed.

The first new identification card will be issued free of cost. However, there is a fee of BDS $60.00 for replacement cards. The following are exempted:

  1. Persons 65 years or older
  2. Persons who have disabilities and are unable to pay
  3. Change overs – persons on attaining the age of 16 years.

BEWARE OF FEE BASED REGISTRATION SERVICES

The Electoral and Boundaries Commission and the Ministry of Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology are aware that there are persons offering a fee based service to assist individuals in registering for their Trident ID card.


We wish to advise the public that we regard this as risky and potentially dangerous and that they should not engage any such services, to register for their Trident ID cards, from unofficial persons or entities.


The registration for the new ID card requires the sharing of personally identifiable information which if shared with the wrong person could lead to identity theft. Registration for the Trident ID card should only be done either face to face at a registration centre or using the online portal directly by the person who is registering.
